Thirteen years ago this morning, I pulled up to the Luzum farm and was greeted by Steph’s dad standing on the porch holding a shotgun.*
That was how my wedding day began.
Rest of the day went off without a hitch and I have to say, it’s been a pretty good thirteen years. I’m going to go out on a limb and think we’ll have a lot more ahead of us.
* Lyle has not greeted me with a shotgun since nor has he tried to off me in any other manner. Though, there was that one time he sent me on top of a grain bin using a really rickety ladder …
Well, you gotta give me credit for checking to see if you *really* wanted to marry our daughter! I guess you passed the test. Happy anniversary.
(Reality check — there was a raccoon involved, too.)
