Oh yeah, I have a blog, don’t I? I should update that thing …
I wish I could say happy and exciting things were happening but that wouldn’t be the case. On the other hand, there is nothing tragic or horrific happening so that’s good in and of itself. The past couple of weeks have just been quiet and busy.
- The garden is complete. All the seeds are processed and in, the hoops torn down, and all the netting put away. This year was a pretty rough one for us on that front. The weather wasn’t warm enough for a lot of things and the raccoons did a serious number on our crop. I believe we were supposed to get around 10 pounds of seeds and we ended up with only 6. Not ideal but not terrible. Thankfully, this is a side-gig for us. If we did this for a living, we’d be screwed.
- We are also in the full swing of marathon training. This upcoming weekend is the first of our 20 milers (we have two 20s and a 22). Looking at the forecast, it’s also going to be a cold one too. I told Steph this morning that unless one of us qualifies for Boston, no more winter marathons. Things are going well
- Also on the writing front, I’m doing about a chapter per week which is pretty good. Some days are better than others but at least it’s on the page and makes some sort of sense.
I had contemplated doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year but opted against it. By itself, it’s a hell of a challenge but when you throw in training for a marathon, it just ain’t gonna happen. Someone might be able to pull it off but I like to have some slim grasp on sanity by the end of the month.
So that’s all from this front. Hopefully it won’t be as long until the next update.
