February Word Count (+ January Revision)

The official word count of February … plus a revision on January.

Turns out that I was using my progress spreadsheet all wrong.You’d think being a computer guy, I’d know how to work a spreadsheet, right? Nope.

TL;DR version – I should have been entering the total word count rather than my daily word count. Fixing that makes my progress look a lot better and shows that I actually am making some headway toward my goal of 100,000 words.

Toward the end of the month, I vanquished the red and started making some positive progress. A few good days helps quite a bit with that. Unfortunately most of that has been eaten up in March already but I hope to get a gap again.

Site Transferred – Much Headaches

After way too much effort and headaches, the site has been transferred  to it’s new home. There are still a few glitches I’m working out that will ensure a steady stream of swearing.

The most noticeable is the Permalinks. It used to be that all links on the blog were /year/month/blog-post-title. Now, for some reason, the site will only work with the WordPress default of /blog/?p=1234.

Annoying enough, this means the old links won’t work as it doesn’t redirect. It’s my top priority to figure this out but I’m not sure how long that will take. If you stumble across anything, please drop me a line so I can take a look at it.

Update: 9:30am – Permalinks should be fixed. Now onto finding a new theme for the blog.
