Down South

In Arizona right now on what we are calling our ‘Hole in the Ground’ tour.

Actually, we’re down here in Flagstaff for a wedding reception but we’ve chosen to visit a few sites that the area has to offer. Today we stopped by the Meteor Crater.  Very cool and impressive, considering that the meteorite that created it was a mere 150 feet in size.  But when you’re thrown down by the heavens, I guess you get a lot of momentum on your side.

Tomorrow we’re off to hike some of the Grand Canyon and on our way back to Phoenix on Monday, we’ll visit Montezuma Castle.  Not much else to say so here’s a picture to tide you over until I have something else.

4000 feet across, 550 feet deep, and 50,000 years old.
